How to install your Pinlock® lens?
- Remove the helmet visor from the helmet.
- Check if the arrows on the Pinlock® pins in the visor are pointing outwards.
- Flex the helmet visor and place the Pinlock® lens between the two pins.
- Check with natural light if the silicon seal on the insert makes full contact with the helmet visor.
- Remove the protective film from the lens.
- Fit the helmet visor back on the helmet.

How to clean your Pinlock® lens?
- Remove the Pinlock® lens from your visor.
- Rinse the lens and the helmet visor with only mineral water, this should remove all the dirt. Then carefully use a clean, wet microfiber cloth to erase any remaining stains.
- Allow the Pinlock® lens and the helmet visor to dry naturally in an upright position before reassembling them.
- Flex the helmet visor and place the lens between the two pins.
- Check with natural light if the silicon seal on the lens makes full contact with the helmet visor.
- Fit the helmet visor back on the helmet.
What is the best way to store a Pinlock® lens?
Store the Pinlock® in a dark place that is free from moisture and dust. A soft cloth or plastic bag should do the trick. Our lenses are sensitive to scratches due to the microfibre technology, so please handle them with care.
What is a DKS number?
DKS is our own unique product coding system. Pinlock® lenses are customized to the shape of the helmet visor. By using DKS numbers, it is possible to distinguish the lenses from each other. Fun fact, it is named after our founder.
Where can I buy a Pinlock® lens for my helmet?
It is not possible to buy a lens from us, so the best way is to search online or visit your local store. Our unique DKS number, which corresponds to the correct Pinlock® lens for your helmet, will help you find the right lens. Check the product page of your helmet to find the DKS number.
How can I get a better seal?
Over time the lens may shrink, resulting that it may come loose. Adjusting the pins will result in more tension on the lens.
- Remove the helmet visor from the helmet.
- Take the Pinlock® lens out of your visor.
- Turn the pin indicator 45 degrees towards your helmet.
- Replace the Pinlock® lens by flexing your helmet visor.
- Check the seal.

Adjust your One Component Pin
- Please remove the Pinlock® lens from the visor before adjusting the Pinlock® One Component Pin.
- Adjust the pins by pushing them outwards and turning them with your fingers before pushing them back in. Use steps of maximum 45° degree tension build up.
- When the silicone seal of the lens makes a full seal all around the lens and the visor, the adjustment is complete.
Adjust your Two Component Pin
- Please remove the Pinlock® lens before adjusting the Pinlock® Two Component Pin.
- You can adjust the position of the pin with a flathead screwdriver or bank card. Use steps of maximum 45° degree tension build up.
- When the silicone seal of the lens makes a full seal all around the lens and the visor, the adjustment is complete.
Adjust your Three Component Pin
- Please remove the Pinlock® lens before adjusting the Pinlock® Three Component Pin.
- Adjust the tension of the lens by turning the hexagon on the inside of the visor using a 5 mm hexagon tool. Use steps of maximum 45° degree tension build up.
- When the silicone seal of the lens makes a full seal all around the lens and the visor, the adjustment is complete.
Adjust your Tear-off Pin
- Please remove the Pinlock® lens before adjusting the Pinlock® Tear-off Pin.
- Adjust the tension of the lens by turning the hexagon on the inside of the visor using a 5 mm hexagon tool. Use steps of maximum 45° degree tension build up.
- When the silicone bead of the lens makes a full seal all around the lens and the visor, the adjustment is complete.
Where can I get new Pinlock® pins?
The Pinlock® pins are available online or at your local retailer. SHOEI, Arai, HJC, LS2, SCHUBERTH, and Nolan make use of their own pins.
